What we love about Kettering

Kettering has been Magnolia the Florist’s home since we opened our flagship store here back in 2009. We have loved becoming part of the local community so we'd like to share our local community recommendations.

For a sumptious facial or manicure we recommend our neighbours Total Balance, a beauty and holistic salon. Such a relaxing atmosphere, the perfect place for a massage after a full days shopping.

If it's boutique shopping you're after head across the road from us to The Yards, located in the old fire and ambulance station. Its a bit of a mini Camden with an open layout indoor market and courtyard full of independent retailers with a bar and cafe.

Kettering has historically been a market town, and keeps up that tradition today. The hustle and bustle of the market when it is held every Friday and Saturday adds to the charm. We especially love Foodie Friday every second Friday of the month on the high street – there's always something delicious for us to try!

Newlands Shopping Centre is where you'll find all the big brand stores, there's easy car parking and an array of shops to spend an afternoon browsing.

For weddings we always recommend Barton Hall, on Barton Road, a Grade 2 listed hotel, set in stunning grounds and views of the local countryside. It is one of our favourite venues to dress for wedding flowers in Kettering.

Expect to pay £1 per hour or £6 all day for parking in Kettering. We've come up with a few chearper parking recommendations.

The nearest parking to Market Street is Piccadilly Buildings, Sheep Street, NN16 0AN. It's free but there are a limited number of spaces. If you're just popping to the shops for an hour you can park at School Lane Car Park NN16 0DH, closer to Newlands Shopping Centre, just a 5 minute walk to our shop on Market Street, maximum stay is one hour for just 40p. Newlands Shopping Centre also has its own multi-storey car park, the entrance is on Tanner's Lane - 4hours parking is just £2.

Kettering’s Wicksteed Park was founded in 1921 and is one of the oldest amusement parks in the UK. More than 1 million people visit every year, and community events such as Fireworks night are held throughout the year.
Kettering Town FC are nicknamed “The Poppies” because of the colour of their home kit.
